Q: When will your next book be released?
A: It's hard to say. The plan is to definitely release at least
three to four stories a year. But, I'm also working on a secret
project that will most likely go under a new pen name. So,
stay tuned...
Q: Will there be anymore books in your Werecheetah Shifters
series?
A: Yes! I'm planning to have at least three books in the series
with Dangerous Environment being the last.
Q: Will there be anymore books in the Bittersweet series?
A: After much deliberation, the simple answer is yes. The
complicated answer is I don't know if I want to visit the
going-ons in the Hub. I'm thinking of skipping that year all
together and revisiting Phaedra in her first year in college.
After all, those were some of the best--most
interesting--years of my life. *g*
FAQs
MARCIA COLETTE
Embracing the creepier side of writing.
Q: Will there be anymore books in your Alexa York series? It is a series, right?
A: I don't know. I really like Alexa's world, but right now, I don't have any ideas for a new book for her.
Q: Any plans for revising Half Breed?
A: Yes. Once I get a handle on all of my other projects, I want to get my rights back so I can revise and redo it. I don't know if
the changes will be as extensive as they were with Hazardous Environment, but there will be changes.
Q: Dark Encounters is a weird urban fantasy series because the books are written in the same world, but with different
protagonists. Is it really an urban fantasy?
A: It's more like a dark urban fantasy because it uses the UF elements (kick-ass heroine, paranormal in the current world setting,
etc.) But, it also has horror elements, too, because they're meant to scare you. So rather than have a series that follows the
same character throughout, these characters will crossover and not necessarily in a good way. For now, the two in the series are
The Spider Inside Her and Deadlier by the Dozen. Human Wreckage.
Q: Will Unstable Environment be released in e-book?
A: That's up to my publisher. But every email you send me, I'll be forwarding to Parker Publishing, LLC. in an effort to make that
happen. Trust me, I want to see it in ebook, too.
Q: Why aren't your books available in bookstores?
A: They can be, but that's not up to me. Half Breed is in ebook only, so no hope there. Not yet, anyway. As for the others,
they're available online at places like Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Also, they're distrubuted by Ingram Books, which means any
bookstore could order them for you.
Q: Do you do any booksignings?
A: Yes! Take a look at the page footer. That's where I'll be making appearances (those with * aren't confirmed yet), and you can
bet I'll be signing books at those venues. If I decide to have a signing outside those places, check out my home page under the
News section and my blog for the details. I LOVE signing books and meeting readers. In fact, I have my best coversations with
readers. Just don't get scared if I get a little overexcited. Seriously, Bobbie, Wayne, Nikkie, PJ, Gannon, and Kathy are just a few
of the cool folks I've met while on the book trail.
Q: Are you active on Social Networking sites?
A: I have Twitter and Facebook accounts, but as for being active, I'm not like some writers who promote the hell out of their
books. I have a full-time job and a 3+ kiddo, so that cuts into a lot of my socializing. I'd like to be able to do blog tours, join group
blogs, and have a grand ol' time, but it's just not possible. Any extra time I have, I spend it writing my next book.
Q: What do you do for fun?
A: You mean when I'm not writing? I'm using my little girl as an excuse to hangout at places like Monkey Joe's and swinging on the
swings at the park. Oh, and when she's old enough, we're going to be hitting up a LOT of movies. I'm just not sure they'll be rated
R or even PG-13 for that matter. When she turns 8, I'll reevaluate.
Q: Where do you get your ideas?
A: Honestly, it's whatever comes to mind. Sometimes, it could be something I'm reading or watching on TV and an idea will pop in
my head. Trust me, I wish I could dream up a multi-million-dollar idea like Stephanie Meyer, but my brain just doesn't work like
that.
Q: Can you read my manuscript or give me a blurb?
A: Unfortunately, no. See the previous answer about how I spend my time.
Q: Can I have a free book?
A: No, because I'm trying to make a living out of my writing. But...I love running contests, where you have the chance to win one.
I'll be sure to announce any contests on my home page in the News section and on my blog.
Q: Other than your blog, Facebook, Twitter, and conventions, what are some other ways I can reach you?
A: Feel free to email me at mc(at)marciacolette(dot)com.
Don't forget to check out my bookshelf. Have a great day!
